Hi! I'm Shaylee, an avid distance runner, dancer, health enthusiast, yogi, and most importantly I am a mother to 5 delightful young children. I initially found yoga as a soothing compliment to marathon training, but I quickly realized that every time I'd step on my mat I'd receive an emotional shower and mental healing. The mind, body, spirit unity that I get from yoga is what keeps me coming back everyday. The four corners of my mat are where I feel safe, free to be, challenged, strengthened and softened. I am so grateful that I now have an opportunity to teach yoga and share this gift with all the yogis in my class. My ultimate goal is to someday "yogify" the world!

shaylee's favorite poses:

  1. Sleeping pigeon: this feels heavenly on my tight runner hips!
  2. Grasshopper: this is the first "advanced" arm balance I ever tried. I remember watching my teacher go into it and think omg I could never do that, but then I tried it and got it that very first time. I remember thinking, "Wow! I'm stronger than I know. I can do hard things!" It also gives you pretty awesome tricep bruises which is super fun!
  3. I also love sivasana / warrior 4 pose: it is here that we find our strength, peace, and surrender. It is a pose in which we can release control and celebrate all that our body has done for us. I love the physical demands that yoga puts on my body; I delight in looking in the mirror and seeing new muscle definition, but I equally cherish the spiritual awakening and mental rebirth that comes from my practice, sivasana is where I feel these benefits.
